GRADING POLICY

All purchases made through The Hub Vintage Wholesale Limited are business-to-business (B2B) wholesale transactions.

By placing an order, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to this grading policy.

The Nature of Vintage Clothing

All items we supply are vintage and pre-owned, typically 20–30 years old.

As a result, all products will show varying degrees of wear. This may include marks, fading, repairs, or other signs of age.

These characteristics are inherent to vintage clothing and should be expected when purchasing in bulk.

Important Expectations

  • All stock is sold in bulk, not individually curated

  • You will receive a mix of styles, brands, sizes, and eras

  • Condition will vary across items within each grade

  • A small percentage of items may fall outside the expected grade, which is standard in vintage wholesale

Grade A

Grade A is our highest standard, offering strong resale potential with minimal visible wear.

Items are in very good wearable condition but may include:

  • Light wear, fading, or signs of age

  • Small washable or light permanent marks

  • Very minor holes or repairs

  • Light print cracking or embroidery wear

  • Minor fraying on cuffs, collars, or hems

  • Missing non-essential components (e.g. hood strings, removable hoods)

  • Light bobbling (pilling), which can be easily removed

Grade B

Grade B includes items with more noticeable wear, suitable for lower price-point resale, rework, or upcycling.

Items may include:

  • Noticeable stains (some removable, others permanent)

  • Visible fading or ageing

  • Holes or fabric wear

  • Fraying, seam wear, or general deterioration

  • Print cracking or worn graphics

  • Missing labels or inconsistent sizing

  • Missing non-essential components

Grade C

Grade C consists of heavily worn or damaged items, typically suited for repair, rework, or clearance resale.

Items may include:

  • Large holes or significant damage

  • Heavy staining (often permanent)

  • Significant fading or fabric wear

  • Major fraying or structural damage

  • Missing components or faults affecting wearability

Mixed Grades (A/B)

Some categories (such as workwear) may be sold as Grade A/B, which is an intentional mix of both Grade A and Grade B items.

This means you should expect a wide variation in condition, from ready-to-sell pieces to items requiring repair or preparation.

Washed Stock

Items labelled “I’ve been washed” have been cleaned by our suppliers at no additional cost.

Please note:

  • Items have been washed for general cleanliness only

  • They have not been stain treated or individually detailed

  • Minor stains or marks may still be present

  • A light storage or transit odour may remain due to bulk shipping

These factors are normal and do not qualify as faults.

Items without this label have not been washed or pre-processed.

Preparation & Handling

To maximise resale value, we recommend:

  • Washing items upon arrival to remove any odours

  • Steaming or pressing garments before sale

  • Using lint rollers or de-bobbling tools where needed

We are not responsible for any damage caused during washing or post-delivery handling.

Final Notes

This grading policy is designed to provide a clear and honest guide to the condition of our products.

Due to the nature of vintage wholesale, grading is not an exact science, and some variation is to be expected.
