What does "I've been washed" really mean?

Products labelled “I’ve been washed” have been cleaned by our suppliers before arriving with us. This service is included at no extra cost.

These items have been washed to improve overall cleanliness and presentation, including reducing odours and creasing. However, they have not been stain treated or individually detailed.

What to expect:

  • Some minor stains or marks may still be present

  • Items are not professionally finished or pressed

  • A light “storage” or transit smell may remain due to the nature of bulk shipping

These factors are normal for vintage wholesale and do not qualify for a refund.

Additional Information

All stock is shipped in bulk and may spend extended periods in transit before arriving with you.

For best resale results, we recommend:

  • Light steaming or pressing

  • Using a fabric spray or freshener

  • Standard preparation before placing items on the shop floor

Items without the “I’ve been washed” label have not been washed or pre-processed.

Grading

What is Grade A?

Grade A is our highest standard of vintage clothing, offering strong resale potential while still reflecting the nature of pre-owned garments.

All items are second-hand and typically 20–30 years old, so some signs of wear should be expected.

What to expect from Grade A:

Items are in very good wearable condition but may include:

  • Light wear, fading, or signs of age

  • Small washable or light permanent marks

  • Very minor holes or repairs

  • Light print cracking or embroidery wear

  • Minor fraying on cuffs, collars, or hems

  • Missing non-essential components (e.g. hood strings, removable hoods)

  • Light bobbling (pilling), which can be easily removed

Important to know:

  • All stock is sold in bulk, not individually curated

  • You will receive a mix of styles, brands, sizes, and eras

  • A small percentage of items may fall outside the expected grade, which is standard in vintage wholesale

These factors are normal and do not qualify as faults.

If you’re unsure whether Grade A is right for you, feel free to get in touch — we’re happy to help guide you.

What is Grade A/B?

Grade A/B is a mixed grade, combining both Grade A and Grade B items within the same order.

This grade is commonly used for categories such as workwear, where garments are designed for durability and often show a wider range of wear.

What to expect from Grade A/B:

You will receive a mixture of items ranging from:

  • Grade A: Very good wearable condition with light signs of wear

  • Grade B: More noticeable wear, including marks, fading, or damage

This means your order may include:

  • Clean, ready-to-sell items

  • Items with visible wear or defects

  • A broad mix of conditions across the full order

Typical characteristics may include:

  • Washable or permanent stains

  • Fading and signs of age

  • Holes or fabric wear

  • Fraying, print cracking, or worn trims

  • Missing non-essential components (e.g. hood strings, removable hoods)

  • Missing labels or inconsistent sizing

  • Workwear-style distressing (e.g. worn knees or heavy use areas)

Important to know:

  • This is an intentionally mixed grade, not a uniform product

  • All stock is sold in bulk, not individually curated

  • Condition will vary significantly across items

Grade A/B is best suited to buyers who are comfortable working with a wide range of vintage condition, including both ready-to-sell and repairable pieces.

If you’re unsure whether this grade is right for you, feel free to get in touch — we’re happy to help.

What is Grade B

Grade B consists of vintage clothing with more noticeable wear, making it ideal for lower price-point resale, upcycling, or rework.

All items are second-hand and typically 20–30 years old, so visible signs of use are to be expected.

What to expect from Grade B:

Items are in wearable condition but may include:

  • Noticeable stains (some may be removable, others permanent)

  • Visible fading or signs of age

  • Holes or damage (typically larger than minor wear)

  • Fraying, wear to seams, or general fabric deterioration

  • Print cracking or worn graphics

  • Missing non-essential components (e.g. hood strings, removable hoods)

  • Missing labels or incorrect sizing

  • Occasional workwear-style distressing (e.g. worn knees)

Important to know:

  • All stock is sold in bulk, not individually curated

  • You will receive a mix of styles, brands, sizes, and eras

  • Condition will vary across items within the grade

Grade B offers strong value for buyers who are comfortable working with more heavily worn vintage stock.

If you’re unsure whether Grade B is suitable for your needs, feel free to get in touch — we’re happy to help.
